It was on this day in 1988 that we lost one of the most iconic figures in automotive history, Enzo Ferrari.
Enzo’s passion lives on through the kinetic sculptures that bear his name both in Formula 1 and on the street. His accomplishments are far too vast to simply list here in short paragraph form. I can simply say that he remains one of the most influential figures in my life despite having never met him. His life and ultimate rise to the pinnacle of Formula 1 and the automotive industry is an epic tale of perseverance and vision.
If you are a fan of the cars that bear his name I’d recommend you read the Brock Yates story of Enzo’s life. Brock deftly illustrates how a poor young man from Italy overcame insurmountable odds along the path to greatness.
